In the latest episode of Noisey Rap, Meek talks about getting started in the music industry, growing up in the hood, and his love of dirt biking. The Philly MC lights up the most, however, when discussion turns to his longtime girlfriend.
“I always seen it like this. I always seen it like me having one of the top hustling, prettiest girls in the game,” he says, explaining that Nicki has all the qualities he looks for in a woman. “Somebody that’ll understand me. Somebody that hustle. Somebody that’s aggressive. These are things I like.”
Nicki has stood by her man through a lot of tough moments, including his beef with Drake, his recent feud with The Game, and his probation violation and subsequent house arrest. Meek says he knows how lucky he is to have her support, comparing their relationship to a “dream.”
“I wake up in my bed and I just look at Nicki like, ‘Man, this shit has gotta be a dream because we used to dream all this shit and it’s just going on right now.”
